"If it wasn't for them...I would have never played Disc Golf. My first round of Disc Golf was with Rob and Joe in the late 1980's at Skyline Park in Dallas, Texas. We played hundreds of rounds of golf together and traveled all over the United States competing in tournaments. Rob and Joe brought so much joy to my life that I can't even begin to thank them for introducing me to this sport of Disc Golf. Because of Rob and Joe, I was introduced to a disc golf family with life long friends from all across the world. For that, I am forever grateful.
Rob and Joe showed me that there was more to Disc Golf than competing and winning, it gives you the opportunity to get outdoors and see God's beautiful creation. To take a walk thru the trees...a hike thru the hills... and to watch a frisbee fly thru the fresh air on a windy breeze while spending the day with some of your best friends and meeting new ones along the way. And sometimes the best part...having a beer on the 19th hole in a beautiful park...sitting on the tail gate talking about life.
Not only were Rob and Joe my best friends, they were two of the best people and the best disc golfers I have ever met. They showed me what the Disc Golf Code was even before it was ever created. Playing with Honor and Integrity, always helping to retrieve a lost disc, leaving the course better than you found it, and stopping to help a complete stranger and to teach them how to throw a disc.
I celebrate the days we spent together on and off the course. Rest in Peace Rob and Joe! You are forever missed! Love, Russell Britt #7683"
